My mother-in-law and I found this recipe, when she was in Milwaukee for a visit last fall. It’s easy and yummie. This recipe calls for a cheese sauce. You can make a cheese sauce with any of your favorite cheeses by simply grating the cheese and melting it in a small saucepan with a little whipping cream until creamy and “sauce-like”. I used cheddar cheese.
- 6 potatoes cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup cheese sauce, heated
- 1 cup ranch dressing, slightly heated
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/2 cup crumbled bacon
Pour the water over the potatoes and bake in an 8-inch, nonĀ stick pan at 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Drain off the water, pour on the cheese sauce and ranch dressing. Finally, sprinkle with the green onions and bacon.
Serve immediately.
