This is little Douggie’s favorite thing to take to a party as long as he has a “cold beer” to go along with! Throw some Tostitos in a bowl to use for dippers. It has been a hit every time we’ve made it.
- 1 pkg. Lawry’s taco seasoning
- 1 lg. container sour cream (Have you ever tried “Breakstone’s” sour cream? It’s the best!)
- 4 dashes Tabasco
- 6 green onions, chopped with tops included
- 2 medium tomatoes (from your garden- hee-hee) chopped
- 1 cup sliced black olives
- Shredded WISCONSIN Cheddar Cheese (approx. 8 oz.)
- Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese (approx. 8 oz.)
- Guacamole- Doug has often used the kind you can buy in the frozen food section at the grocery store but if you have the time, I think it’s much better to make the “real stuff”. Try Dave’s guac also listed in the Table of Contents.
In a medium sized bowl, mix the taco seasoning, the sour cream, and the Tabasco. Spread this mixture onto a large plate which you will be using to serve the dip. Refrigerate at least 1/2 hour to firm this up a bit. Meanwhile, chop and shred the other goodies. Then, gently spread the guacamole on top of the sour cream mixture. Layer next with the Jack cheese, then the cheddar, then the tomatoes, then the olives, and last with the green onions. Serve and start dipping! This will disappear within minutes. You might want to make two batches…
